Private Villas In Sanur, Bali: The Top 5
So you want to find Sanur villa accommodation? Excellent choice! Out of everywhere we’ve visited in Bali, Sanur is the place that we choose to call home. We love this resort town on the south-east coast of Bali. It’s not crazy-trendy like Canggu or high-end like Seminyak, or party-wild like Kuta (check out our complete guide on where to stay in Bali here). It’s fairly quiet with a good selection of activities and day-trips, which makes it ideal for families, honeymooners and retirees, it has a great variety of beach bars and restaurants and cafes and it’s a very convenient location for exploring some of Indonesia’s other islands. The private villas Sanur is famous for are some of the best in Bali, with excellent service and top locations.

What to do in Sanur
Go on day trips to explore Bali. From Sanur you can book plenty of snorkelling and other watersports trips plus excursions to Ubud, Seminyak, Uluwatu and even several volcanoes! We recommend Get Your Guide as the most professional tour agency in Bali.
Enjoy spa & beauty treatments. There are countless spas and beauty salons in Sanur, including beach-front massage beds and high-end treatment facilities at some of the more upscale hotels.
Eat! Sanur is great for those who want to spend time relaxing on the sand with a cocktail, traditional Balinese dish or quality western fare- there is everything from Mexican to Chinese, vegan to pizza joints and everything in between. The night market is very popular for trying local street food and is a personal favourite. We recommend Soul on the Beach, Artotel and Genius Cafe for delicious smoothies, salads and mains.
Enjoy the markets and their perks. There is a local market on the first Sunday of every month outside Byrdhouse Beach House and buying a meal from the market gives you all-day access to Byrdhouse’s 4 swimming pools including its beachfront infinity pool. On the last Sunday of every month there is a market outside Mercure Resort with bouncy castles, food, candy floss and the like, and every single Sunday outside Genius there is face painting and crafts for kids.
Island hop. Sanur has a beach specifically for grabbing boats to other islands, which makes it a great place to check out the Gili Islands or Nusa Penida and the stunning photo-worthy spots there (my Mum and I did the Nusa Penida tour together and really enjoyed it).
If You Only Take One Bali Excursion, Make It This One
Komodo Island and the surrounding national park is one of the most unique natural habitats in the world, home to the famous Komodo Dragons. There are several trips to Komodo Island, including 2-day, 3-day or 4-day tours with plenty of wildlife spotting, snorkelling and private-island opportunities. It really is a once-in-a-lifetime location, perfect for a memorable honeymoon excursion or educational family adventure. Check out our full guide to Komodo, including the best times to visit here.
