If you’d told me two years ago that the things I would be looking forward to most was making a lovely, cosy home in the UK and settling down, I would have laughed.
Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans! We are having a wonderful time house sitting at the moment and looking after a house again has really got us looking forward to creating a home where we can work and play and enjoy some of the memories that we created on our year of adventures in Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
We loved documenting our trip with photos, videos and blog posts, but you know what it’s like- you take a ton of gorgeous photos and then they live on your phone forever, or are filed away in a cloud, never to be seen again.
I was pretty determined that I wouldn’t let our photos from this year go to waste, and so I’ve already been looking at how to make the most of our favourite captured moments. As well as a few framed pics and a photo book for the coffee table (the quickest way to summarise our trip to visitors!) we are looking forward to get a select few of our favourite pics printed onto wood as wall decor. We love the way this fits in with the trip in terms of it being natural materials to remind us of Bali, and it also fits into the super relaxed environment that we want to create in our new home.
We also think that using Helloprint is a fab way to stay in touch with friends and family whether you are travelling around the world or simply wanting to reach out on something other than digital media! Their photo cards are beautiful and you can use your own pictures to personalise cards, posters and prints as special gifts for loved ones.
I am making Mum a photo album of our travels for Christmas this year – it takes time to do but it is so much more meaningful than anything I could dash into a shop and buy, and it’s something we will all love looking at in the years to come.
