Gentle parenting blogs: Practical parenting advice for better parent-child relationships
Welcome to our little library of gentle parenting blogs. Gentle parenting is a form of parenting that tries to work in partnership with children to create a harmonious family environment. Differences between gentle parenting and conventional parenting include the fact that we don’t use punishments or rewards, we live by principles instead of rules and our kids have equal say as members of our family.
It might sound hippie-dippie but we’ve found that working this way as a family has helped us become better communicators and more understanding of each other (parents and kids alike). This page is full of practical advice and tips on working together as a family to become more peaceful, happy and effective (and some humorous posts about the chaos that are our family mishaps- see the bottom of the page!)
You might not connect with all the posts but I hope that there will be some nuggets in here that you can find useful; I LOVE hearing from people who try my tips so please do keep in touch and let me know how it goes!

A disclaimer: Technically our way of parenting isn’t strictly ‘gentle parenting’, as there are other factors within our family such as our children’s increased autonomy and the fact that we home educate, that extends out from under the umbrella of ‘gentle parenting’. We are really ‘radical unschoolers’, but people often freak when they hear that term and I prefer people to read my posts and try my methods out for themselves before they slap a kerazy label on it. So here we are folks!
